Welcome

I am Jo Perry, a textile artist based in South Wales, working with stitch, texture, and natural materials to explore themes of care, connection, and everyday joy. My practice is rooted in slow, mindful processes such as slow stitch, free-motion embroidery, and weaving — methods that allow space for reflection, softness, and storytelling.
I draw inspiration from time spent in nature, from personal experiences, and from the quiet moments that shape our sense of self and place. Whether working in my studio or with others, I see textiles as a gentle, powerful way to hold space for feeling, presence, and shared humanity.
I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Creative and Therapeutic Arts in 2024, and I’m currently studying for an MA in Arts Practice (Arts, Health and Wellbeing). Alongside my studio work, I facilitate participatory textile sessions within arts and health settings — creating welcoming environments where people can connect, slow down, and express themselves through creative making.
